Habitat Regulations Assessment

Green Ecology provide advice on the potential implications of a development affecting a European protected site (Natura 2000 or RAMSAR site) that could trigger a Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA).

We have worked on sensitive sites where direct or indirect impacts to European sites (including Special Protection Areas (SPA’s), Special Areas of Conservation (SAC’s) and RAMSAR sites) have required an HRA screening report to be produced and submitted with a planning application in order for the competent authority to conduct a test of ‘likely significance’.

With strong knowledge of varying local planning policy we are able to provide early advice on HRA considerations including, the probability of financial contributions that are likely to be required relating to either Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) and or Strategic Assess Management & Monitoring (SAMM).
