Alphington, Devon – Residential development scheme
Green Ecology have been working alongside south west based developers Westcountry Land on a residential development for 220 new units in addition to the refurbishment of 5 existing properties on the outskirts of Exeter. Following a preliminary ecological appraisal the site required extensive bat surveys combining activity surveys, automated surveys and emergence surveys of the buildings already occupying the site.
The development required an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for which Green Ecology prepared the ecology chapter as well as offering on-going advice on potential ecological impacts and interpretation of the local planning authority’s ecological policies.
With the site having since been adopted into the local plan for residential development a decision on planning permission is due around the summer time 2015.
